Thanks to Heather & spending hours looking for decent suppliers of Raw meats & bones etc, & getting as much info as we could, we embarked on the BARF diet just over a week ago. Even just in this short time, i have seen a marked difference in the dogs! Both waste & in their general well-being.

Below is a pic of our TJ (23mths) who although had decently clean teeth with being fed 'complete' foods, he still had a little plaque, despite being given Plaque off to remove it, the difference in his teeth from eating the BARF diet is phenomenal!! Beautiful White & Clean teeth & healthy gums throughout his mouth .. & hes a much happier chappy too!!

Thems some clean chompers Wink

B and R get raw bones several time a week and they have nice clean teeth too (not that clean) esp for almost 8 year olds. At their last visit the vet didnt even suggest a dental cleaning and he's a dental specialist Smile

Bones DO work wonders!

What lovely teeth you have TJ (didn't need to see them quite so close yesterday mind LOL)

We are loving this diet especially super fussy Bella, she has eaten every meal for a whole week, verually unheard of in the last 2 years Very Happy and everyone see brighter and more alert in general.

Just need to get a bigger freezer now!!!

Gina try joining your local freecycle online, freezers come up all the time. Thats where my 3 have come from. Doesn't matter what they look like if they can go in the garage, as long as they work!

Mine are all fine on complete raw, I did get in a big batch of ox heart, about 8kg in total. The butcher had already sliced them for me but I still mince most stuff for Rodney & Trix. Never seen so much blood it was everywhere like someone had been murdered!! Mostly I have chicken backs carcasses wings & beef/lamb offcuts so its not usually like that lol. Needed a stash of offal to add in now & then, so probably have a months worth now!

I will say its incredibly hard not to over feed the Pug Sultana, whose 50g meal is only a cereal spoons worth!!

Much cheaper way of feeding (& cleaning up!) if you can find a good reliable butcher or you live near for TPMS to deliver Very Happy

Week 2 into the barf & finally everyone is organised. I wont lie, like Heather i have sat some nights thinking, ugh, complete is so much easier!! OK so it takes a little more time to prepare, feed & supervise as some of the others eat faster than the younger ones, & may try to grab an extra morsel but so far im really pleased with it.

Im fortunate in that all mine like theirs 'whole' so to speak, i dont have to mince much up, & i can buy what I want already minced if i choose, but for the majority, they get it as it comes & they love it!

I fed it years ago (not 100% mind) then gave up because of supplier problems ..... Heather convinced me to go back on it again, & with regular supplies now I'm thrilled ..... If anyone can hold your hand through it ,... Its our 'Bridget' LOL

i couldnt do it!!!

but if mine catch a bird or baby rabbit i normally find out when it comes out the other end! never done them any harm at all!
