Question from a novice about 'Blasters' Empty
PostSubject: Question from a novice about 'Blasters'   Question from a novice about 'Blasters' Icon_minitimeFri Jul 15, 2011 3:22 pm

Hi all,

I've always towel dried my dogs, but have heard a lot about blasters. Will there be a problem with the new pup (e.g excema etc) if I do this?

Thanks!

Do you mean will it give your pup excema?
I've never heard that & have never had any problems with blasting any of my dogs - after the initial drama when you introduce them to it.
I do blast my Golden as he loves to swim & get minging & blasting is very frowned upon in Goldens as it messes with their coats. It doesn't do that to a Saints coat & I blast the Golden anyway, clean dry dog is preferable to soggy & minging!

i agree a blaster is great maybe look on youtube at a few dogs being blasted for a better idea of what they are?

ive no idea how they can cause any skin problems but mine was great when diesel had a hot spot it seemed to help dry it up fast and relieve him for the time i was doing it!

I think what Annie is asking is will the pup be more likely to get skin complaints if she towel dries rather than drying with a blaster (please correct me if in wrong)

I am still looking for at investing in a blaster but up to now i have always towel dried and then finnished with the cool setting on my normal hair drier (it takes for ever.......) but this doesn't cause skin problems.

Hope this helps

Hi Gina - you're right, I just didn't make myself clear.... Looks like there is a blaster in my near future....

We pick up the pup on Saturday - can't wait!

Not bad really, but will take a while to dry!!
