get her enrolled in a good dog class near you....make sure they are good with lg breeds, not all are. go and view a few. if you are using any products like the dogmatic (not as good as a gencon by the way) they won't slip into the eyes. make sure you are shown how to use it so that it is a temporary measure not a permanent device. My younger saint has trained to the clicker and she walks fantastically to heel. and get her out there socialising with anything and everything. if she is acting up in certain situations, make sure that situation is visited more frequently and she gets lots of treats when you get the correct behaviour and try to ignore the negative.
that is how i would be starting.
hope you calm her down and get some fun from her.
oh i am a trainer if you need anything further then please get in touch.

I got my dogmatics on Friday for my two 19 week old Saints and they're fantastic! Very Happy I wasn't expecting such instant results but walked both together in the same hand yesterday and not a single bit of pulling from either of them. They are worth every penny plus more....!

glad that they aren't pulling. it isn't a fun walk being dragged down the street. Smile

can i just say though as regards to any training aid it doesnt teach your dog not to pull it just prevents them from being able to pull. my older saint uses a gencon....its fantastic, i try to use a dual lead device to help train him, but he knows the minute i stop using the gencon he can then pull again. my younger one on the other hand that i have taught from day 1 not to pull....doesn't because she hasnt learnt too. so training is still the best cure.... headcollars whatever make are a good prevention.

I totally agree regarding the training. I was finding that walking them individually was fine and for most of the time they would be walking to heel. When taken out together all hell breaks loose!!! Evil or Very Mad

The solution we were being told by trainers was not to take them out together and they have been fairly negative about owning litter mates of such a large breed. To me that was not a solution and I got them as part of my family and we all go out together as a family.

The dogmatics are allowing us to do other elements of their training when out rather than constantly focusing on the pulling. Also, they seem alot calmer when we are getting ready to go out which is also a bonus. Very Happy They now put their heads in them so they must like them and it must be more pleasant for them not to be choking themselves from the pulling. I've also noticed a lot less slobber when walking!!
