early onset osteoathritis / DJD

Hi, I'm looking to see if anybody has any tips.

My 18 month saint boy has been confirmed through X-ray as having early onset osteoarthritis in both his elbows. I've spoken with the vet and his breeder (both fabulous) and done my research, and will be taking him to hydrotherapy as soon as the vet refers. We are waiting on an opinion from a specialist about an arthroscopy as cartrophen injections have had little effect.

Does anybody here have any experience, or top tips at all that I can think about - I don't want to miss the chance to tap into the collective knowledge here!

is he on any medication or supplement's?

He's on the glucosamine at the moment, and I've been told on a mastiff forum that unrefined coconut oil can help so bought some this morning to try....

We have been given a date for an arthroscopy for both elbows next week (26 Feb) so fingers crossed that may provide some medium - long term relief for him, but all views welcome!
