does anybody give there puppies extra calcium? if so how much and how often

do you agree or not with adding calcium?

Personally we dont actually give calcium tablets etc. The complete food & raw bones gives them all they need .... too much can be as bad as too little & the body cannot excrete what it doesnt use (like with Vit C) the body will absorb all calcium & this in turn could cause problems with joints, hips & growth.

don't give calcium either - i've heard a few horror stories about over supplementing calcium so don't do it. Agree with Kathy, proper diet is all they need.

No extra calcium is given here either. It has now been shown that a lot of the bone and joint problems in giant breeds are caused by too much calcium and incorrect balance between calcium and phosphorus, hence why "giant breed" foods are lower in calcium than normal breed foods.

Looks like we are all in agreeement on this one. I never supplement my puppies with calcium. It should not be necessary with the correct diet.
