| Hiya Jackie,
YES .. i have, despite the vet i used at the time telling me that once a C-Section, always a C-section. The bitch in question had her first litter at 3yrs which was a ceasar & her 2nd litter (albeit unplanned!!) at the age of 5 & all were delivered naturally no stillborns either, all healthy too.
I've had bitches that have whelped naturally 1st time then go on then to have primary inertia & need a cesar 2nd time. |

| That's interesting Kathy. I have also heard the "once a section, always a section" theory but was pretty sure it didn't always hold true.

| I think that theory held true for humans here in America until about 15 years ago. Now most women are given the option to try natural the second time around unless serious complications a raise... sounds like the dog world is getting a leg up on progression as well | |

| i know someone who has had two differnt bitchs have c sections then go on to have normal deliveries
it is true doctors say it to humans aswell as my mum was told after her section the next baby would be a section so she never had any more ( i went against medical advise and had both my children in the sitting room no problems )i think alot of it is to aviod the risk but often interfearing is just as bigger risk
id always try to let the bitch do it herself after a section but with a close eye!
